Job Summary and Qualifications
- Current State of Utah Registered Nurse License or RN license in a Compact State
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification within 7 days from start date
- Associates Degree in Nursing required, BSN is preferred
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 90 days from start date
- Previous critical Care experience strongly preferred
- Basic Arrhythmia Recognition must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
- NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
About the Role
The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
- Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
