Intermediate Architect / Designer

About the role

Blackbird Architects is seeking a full-time Architect / Designer with 3-8 years of experience, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, and significant experience in detailing and construction documents. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to design excellence, strong organizational and project management skills, and proficiency with 2D and 3D drafting software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in teams on large projects and/or lead documentation of smaller projects
• Lead consultant coordination
• Manage multiple projects at various scales and meet deadlines
• Design buildings and landscapes for living, learning, work, and recreation
• Work on a variety of projects and all phases of design and construction
• Implement sustainable design principles

Requirements

• Significant experience and demonstrated ability in detailing and construction documents
• Experience in leading consultant coordination
• Organizational and project management skills
• Proficiency with 2D drafting software and working knowledge of VectorWorks
• Proficiency with 3D modeling software and working knowledge of SketchUp
• Strong design and graphic skills
• Experience in Adobe software and other presentation software

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
