Interior Design Project Manager - Corporate
Position Summary
The Project Manager (PM) plays a key role in successfully executing design and construction projects. This position is responsible for setting project goals and objectives, coordinating with clients to establish clear expectations, and managing all phases of the project from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Define project goals, budgets, and timelines; coordinate with clients to confirm understanding and alignment.
Team Leadership: Delegate responsibilities effectively, balancing independence and oversight for team members. Provide direction of client visualization to team members.
Progress Reporting: Provide consistent updates to Principal without prompting, staying proactive on potential issues and solutions.
Problem-Solving: Take responsibility for resolving project challenges and ensuring team members are recognized for their successes.
Ability to listen and visualize the clients desired outcomes.
Ethical Standards: Uphold company values, legal regulations, and ethical standards in all decisions and actions.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field (NCIDQ certification is a plus)
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, including a strong understanding of design, construction, and contract language.
Skills: Proficiency in project planning, prioritization, cost management, client relations, and control software (CAD, Revit, Excel, Word). Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and leadership abilities. Ability to work independently and with a team. Experience with BOMA would be preferred.
Requirements
Professional Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing tasks, and handle client relations with professionalism.
Physical: Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, maneuver in construction site environments, and sit or stand for extended periods.
Working Conditions
Based primarily in an office setting, with regular travel to job sites and occasional extended hours.
Authority & Accountability
Authority: Train junior team members and ensure all project-related decisions align with company standards.
Accountability: Responsible for meeting all project goals, with performance evaluated by the Principal.
