About the role
The Interior Design Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Gulfport, MS.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand their design preferences, functional needs, and budget
- Develop cohesive design concepts and product recommendations
- Create mood boards or visual presentations
- Select appropriate flooring, lighting, furniture, and finishes
- Guide clients through the showroom to explore options
- Prepare quotes
- Process sales orders
- Cook up vendor coordination
- Ensure timely follow-up with customers
Qualifications
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
- Proficiency in Interior Design and Interior Finish selection
- Sales skills, including consultative selling, upselling related products, and closing transactions
- Ability to work on-site in Gulfport, MS, with a reliable work ethic and commitment to full-time hours
- Basic knowledge of flooring, lighting, and interior finishes; prior experience in a design showroom or related industry is preferred
- Competence with basic computer applications and, ideally, design or visualization software
- Relevant education in interior design, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
