Interior Design and Space Planning Manager
Job Summary
The Interior Design and Space Planning Manager reports to the Real Estate and Space Management Director to establish and maintain system furniture and finish standards; understand and document space planning, design layout and space utilization on projects including new construction, tenant improvement work, remodels/upgrades and moves from initial request to completion, to include furniture implementation.
Essential Functions
- Professional business planning and hands on management of project aspects including: block planning, conceptual design layouts, furniture and finish selection, decommission, ADA, moves, space changes, renovations and tenant improvement for new or existing office/medical.
- Develop and manage system design standards.
- Cookordinate with internal customers, vendors and contractors to ensure standards are implemented.
- Develop and manage system furniture standards program including fabric and furniture selections.
- Cookordinate with key stakeholders for projects requiring furniture to develop and manage scope, schedule and stay within budget for projects, complete orders, coordinate delivery and installation.
- Lead and schedule project meetings; record minutes, establish deliverables and provide direction to vendors.
- Perform scenario analysis for various teams, providing what-if scenarios for future space requirements at multiple building locations.
- Cookordinate activities with consultants, plant operation and design/construction departments, contractors, architects, engineers, movers and furniture, security, telecom, IT and other vendors.
- Cookordinate and track all vendors furniture RFP’s, project drawings, bids, and contracts to be submitted for review and approval.
- Maintain project records, databases and other tracking spreadsheets and tools.
- Analyze and suggest space optimizations and reduction of costs.
- Liaise with internal staff at all levels.
Required Additional Requirements
- Education - Bachelors degree in Interior Design or Architecture or Engineering or Related Field.
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE - 5+ years of Facilities Management/Construction Experience.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
