Position Overview

Under the supervision of Nisha Fernando, this position is responsible for organizing and coordinating the orders of materials in the IA Materials Library in 317 Marvin Hall.

Job Description

  • 75% - Regularly organize materials in the bins and cupboards, labeling materials sections as needed.
  • Discard any unusable samples and boxes, and clean the space as needed.
  • 20% - Coordinate the ordering of new materials.
  • 5% - Other related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in the IA major.
  • Availability during assigned class time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • As demonstrated in previous positions; an interest in materials and products, with some associated knowledge.

Position Requirements

  • During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours.
  • For summer periods the student hourly must:
    • Have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester.
    • Be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours.
    • Be enrolled in summer session.
    • Be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester.
  • Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students.

  • Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments.
  • This is an hourly/non-exempt position.
  • A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
