Interim Student Minister

Principal Function: He is responsible to the Pastor for the planning, directing, and developing of a comprehensive youth ministry (grades 7-12) for Eastern Hills Baptist Church. I. Responsibilities Ministerial: Youth: Offer guidance to young people regarding the Christian faith and other concerns including referral to qualified counselors. Plan and implement a regular program of Bible Studies, fellowships, retreats, camps, and special events to aid in the growth of the youth ministry. Development and promotion of a planned program of youth outreach designed to lead young people to Christ and effectively disciple them to Christian maturity including new Christian training. Maintain an active Youth Advisory Committee which will assist in the planning and evaluating of the youth program. Work closely with the Minister of Education in Sunday School, discipleship programs and mission organizations. Work closely with the Nominating Committee for enlistment, training, and evaluation of all youth and college Sunday School workers. Preparation of annual budgets and responsibility for expense of the student ministry. Coordination of all programs with the church calendar and other church ministries. Administrative: Attendance and participation in regular staff meetings and retreats. Support and encouragement of all other staff members in the performance of their areas of ministry. Accomplish other duties as assigned. III. Remuneration His salary and benefits package will be based on the recommendation of the Personnel Committee and subject to the approval of the church. IV. Remarks The conduct, character, and Christian deportment of this staff member and his family shall conform to the teachings of I Timothy 3:1-7 and to the requirements set forth by this church for its deacons and staff members. Eastern Hills Baptist Church is not calling this minister to accomplish this entire ministry alone, but to serve as leader, enlister, motivator, and resource person for church members who assume leadership positions in the various phases of its program of ministry. This staff member shall be encouraged to keep himself in so far as possible spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically strong. He shall pursue personal holiness through private Bible Study and prayer.
