Interim Principal 2027

About the role

The Interim Principal will begin immediately at Hinsdale Elementary School, providing instructional leadership focused on improving literacy, building a positive school culture through evidence‑based practices, and addressing the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students. The interim leader will also be encouraged to participate in the search process for a permanent principal who is expected to start on July 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to raise literacy achievement across all grade levels.
• Develop and sustain a school culture grounded in evidence‑based instructional practices.
• Address and support the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students.
• Provide day‑to‑day operational leadership as Interim Principal.
• Participate actively in the search and transition process for the incoming permanent principal.

• Significant experience as an instructional leader in an elementary school setting.
• Demonstrated passion for literacy improvement and culturally responsive practices.
• Strong commitment to student well‑being, including social, emotional, and mental health support.
• Dedication and compassion with a “do whatever it takes” mindset for student success.
