Interim Logistics Clerk, Ontario
About the Role
The Interim Logistics Clerk will effectively coordinate day-to-day logistics operations, including import and export logistics, shipping services execution, and compliance documentation for in/outbound shipping. This is a temporary position not exceeding 6 months, after which the employee will return to their previous role.
Responsibilities
- Follow and adhere to logistics processes and procedures, providing suggestions for improvements as applicable.
- Organize transportation activities, including storage of goods, managing information from point of origin to delivery, orchestrating transportation movements, and arranging for services as necessary.
- Coordinate and track the movement of goods through logistic pathways.
- Execute logistics plans to move products and packages to reach destinations on schedule.
- Review freight rates and other transportation costs to keep working costs low.
- Maintain quality throughout the logistics processes.
- Develop and run logistics reports on a regular basis as instructed.
- Handle ad-hoc projects as requested by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience working in a distribution center or warehouse environment.
- Strong Microsoft Office experience, especially in Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
