Interim Lab Supervisor, Inpatient Phlebotomy

Position Summary

Responsible for the supervisory and operational functions of St. Peter’s Health Partners Inpatient Phlebotomy department. The Supervisor is expected to lead a team of Phlebotomy colleagues that directly impact SPHP patient and client experiences.

Duties

• Lead a team of Phlebotomy colleagues
• Staff, train, schedule/timekeep personnel
• Affirm accuracy and timeliness of procedure performance
• Manage budgeting and materials management
• Ensure staff and sites meet regulatory requirements
• Ensure staff follow all policies and procedures
• Ensure sites are well kept and ready for regulatory inspection

Education Requirements

Associate degree required. Bachelor’s degree Preferred. (degree in biological sciences, laboratory science or healthcare management preferred) or Equivalent experience. (minimum of 2 years of leading a phlebotomy team)

Experience Requirements

• Effective communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to manage time, prioritize duties
• Previous experience in phlebotomy
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
