Interim Human Resources Director

About the role
Fahrenheit Advisors is partnering with a private-equity backed professional services firm in Wellesley, MA seeking a hands-on Interim Senior HR Director to serve as Head of HR during a period of transition. This role will provide day-to-day HR leadership, strategic guidance, and implementation support while overseeing a three-person HR team. This is a full-time role which requires the ability to work 3 days on site in Wellesley, MA and two days remotely. There is a modest level of travel to their other three US locations.
Responsibilities
The Interim Senior HR Director will support the client with core HR operations and compliance, strategic initiatives, and execution with a primary focus on four key areas:
- Oversee recruitment, including management of the in-house recruiter, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
- Handle all on-boarding, including white glove approach for incoming Managing Directors.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team and partner with them to steady the ship and provide change management support during organizational transition and growth.
- Review HR policies and practices to ensure they are both compliant and reflective of best practices. Provide guidance on HR policies, including interpretation, recommendations, updates, and employee handbook revisions.
- Lead day-to-day HR operations, including the full employee lifecycle and management of three HR staff.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of Human Resources leadership experience, with HR Director experience preferred.
- Experience working with a white-collar workforce is a requirement – preferably in a consulting environment.
- Direct experience working in a private equity-backed organization is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment laws, recruiting & onboarding strategies, payroll, benefits administration, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency with HR technology platforms and the ability to quickly learn client-specific systems.
- Ability to provide practical, strategic guidance to senior leaders and business stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and judgment.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and administrative skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
Pay
The hourly rate for this Boston metro area-based interim engagement is $90–$115/hour. Compensation will be based on experience, scope of responsibility, role complexity, and geographic market considerations.
