Interim Director of Revenue Accounting
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior advisor and leader for the revenue accounting function during a temporary transition period
- Lead the analysis and application of revenue recognition guidance related to customer contracts and complex transactions
- Support technical accounting assessments, policy interpretation, and documentation related to revenue accounting matters
- Partner with Finance, Sales Operations, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate revenue reporting and operational execution
- Oversee and support revenue operations processes, including billing, accounts receivable, collections, and related workflows
- Review and enhance revenue accounting procedures, controls, and reporting processes
- Provide guidance and issue resolution support to team members and stakeholders as needed
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities related to revenue accounting and reporting
Requirements
- Extensive experience in revenue accounting and technical accounting within a software or subscription-based business
- Deep knowledge of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
- Experience supporting revenue operations, billing, accounts receivable, or related functions
- Ability to lead teams while remaining hands-on with complex accounting matters
- Experience with ERP and revenue management systems; familiarity with subscription or usage-based revenue models is preferred
