Interim Controller

About the role

The Interim Controller will provide critical coverage during a maternity leave transition at our client’s AdTech company in Boulder, CO. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, suitable for someone who can step into an established process with minimal ramp-up.

Responsibilities

• Independently own the full close process: a 5-day cash/AR/revenue close and a 9-day full close
• Manage Revenue Recognition in a high-volume transactional environment
• Oversee accounting for internally developed software assets
• Handle GL entries related to payroll
• Execute monthly/quarterly commission and bonus processes
• Lead and support a lean accounting team through a transition period
• Partner closely with the CFO on day-to-day accounting operations

Requirements

This is not a strategic CFO-level position. The Interim Controller must have experience in AdTech, MarTech, or similar high-volume transactional tech environments, strong technical accounting skills, particularly in Revenue Recognition, and proven ability to independently manage a close process from start to finish. Experience with payroll-related GL entries and commission/bonus cycles is also required.

Skills

• NetSuite proficiency
• Experience with Looker, FloQast, CaptivateIQ (for commissions/bonuses), Expensify, Tipalti, Spendflow, and Concur is a plus
