About the role
The Supply Chain Asset Protection Agent supports all loss prevention, safety, and security initiatives designed to safeguard company assets, including property, building, fixtures, equipment, merchandise, supplies, money, and employees. This role focuses on keeping the building and employees safe, identifying and investigating potential loss situations, and collaborating with loss prevention staff and local law enforcement as needed.
Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with building personnel of all levels in a professional manner and respond urgently to incidents related to loss prevention, safety, and security.
- Monitor identification badges for entry/exit to the building for employees, visitors, vendors, temporary employees, contractors, and truck drivers.
- Scan building associates, visitors, and vendors using electronic walk-through metal detectors and/or hand-held metal detectors (where applicable).
- Perform visual searches of bags, briefcases, and other carry-in items to ensure no prohibited items enter the building.
- Use interpersonal skills and directive behaviors to ensure security screening procedures are followed by all individuals.
- Escalate highly sensitive situations to loss prevention staff and/or local law enforcement as needed.
- Serve as a partner in operational processes and inventory to reduce shrink; initiate and conduct investigations of shrinkage/loss in partnership with the Investigator and/or Asset Protection Manager.
- Maintain site-required documentation related to loss prevention and safety issues (e.g., accident reports, inspection reports, training logs).
- Audit physical security infrastructure (e.g., intrusion detection, access control, cameras) and ensure functionality of all systems.
- Perform daily warehouse walks of the interior and exterior, examining doors, windows, gates, fences, and lighting to ensure proper function and security standards; document findings and implement corrective actions.
- Review camera video footage for investigative or research purposes.
- Respond to all building alarms and take appropriate action.
- Complete initial incident/accident documentation and forward to appropriate individuals for follow-up.
- Support the building manager with opening and closing the building when necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues.
- Work weekends and/or overnight shifts as necessary.
- Perform special projects at the direction of the Asset Protection Manager.
- Support and contribute to the Supply Chain network priorities of "Safety, Team, Results."
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing service position, ideally in loss prevention, security, or risk management.
- Supply Chain Facility experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with associates at various levels within the company.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A calm demeanor when dealing with safety and security issues; ability to effectively respond and resolve incidents.
- Proven experience demonstrating a high level of accountability, initiative, and ownership.
Pay
$25.20 - $26.20 hourly.
