Interfacility Transport Paramedic PRN

Job Summary

The Interfacility Transport Paramedic operates on the Interfacility Transport Team (IFT) and provides safe and effective treatment and transport of patients on the Interfacility Transport ambulance.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic or a Certificate of program completion in EMT/Paramedic is required.
• Florida Paramedic license required.
• 1 year of experience as a field Paramedic with an EMS agency and/or clinical experience working in a hospital.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will:

• Respond to Orange Park Hospital (OPH) EMS Transport Services Call-Center requests for the transport of patients from OPH facilities.
• Provide care in the out of hospital setting, serving as the primary care provider during interfacility transports.
• Assess, plan, implement intervention, and evaluate the appropriate level of patient care according to Florida scope of practice, HCA FLORIDA ORANGE PARK HOSPITAL EMS Protocols, and HCA FLORIDA ORANGE PARK HOSPITAL emergency department policies and procedures.
• Perform diverse duties within the Emergency Department involving an extensive knowledge of protocols, medical techniques, equipment, and the use of a wide range of procedures.
• Ensure readiness of ambulance and all associated equipment for service.
• Actively seek ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered.
