Position Duties/Responsibilities
- Direct research and development of fuels and lubes for Naval aircraft.
- Provide fuels and lubes expertise to the various aircraft Integrated Program Teams and the fleet, as required.
- Establish chemical and physical property requirements for all air-breathing propulsion fuels and lubes used by the Navy.
- Develop and execute research and development to assess potential operational impacts of fuels produced from various alternate sources, such that flightworthiness can be certified.
- Lead teams of scientists and engineers from U.S. military services, Allies, and industry to ensure compatibility of military weapon systems with commercial and military aviation and marine fuels world-wide.
