Interconnection Manager, Senior
About the role
We're looking for an Interconnection Manager, Sr. on behalf of our client. This is an 11-month contract assignment (W-2). You will participate in the Mid-Continent Independent System Operator (MISO) and Southwest Power Pool (SPP) generator interconnection processes. You will oversee the full life cycle of development and construction of projects. This role is important for the successful execution of new generating asset growth within the MISO and SPP regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage generator interconnection application process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timelines.
- Cook up with partners, including ISO/RTOs, developers, and utility companies, to facilitate seamless interconnections.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the generator interconnection process.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to inform strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Power systems background with a deep understanding of transmission planning and NERC reliability standards.
- Experience with steady-state thermal/voltage, short-circuit, transient stability using industry analytical tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerGEM TARA, TSAT, and ASPEN.
- Experience with the planning processes within RTOs/ISOs and Transmission Providers, especially relating to baseline reliability planning and generator interconnection studies.
- Coordinate with multiple internal and external SMEs to complete comprehensive
- Understanding of transmission policy and regulatory issues related to generator interconnection.
- Complex technical information to external team members and all levels of management.
- Provide solutions for technical transmission issues for development projects and current assets.
- Demonstrated experience and a working relationship with ISOs MISO and/or SPP, are essential. This experience should be in a role related to generator or load interconnection agreements. Additionally, knowledge of utility and ISO interconnection study methodology, criteria, and business practices is necessary. Furthermore, we require transmission planning with a focus on grid reliability.

Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $40.00/hr. to $45.00/hr.
