Intercollegiate Athletics Asst. Coach Strength & Conditioning

About the role

• Provide athletic strength and conditioning training, as well as consultation, to eighteen (18) intercollegiate athletic teams.
• Support the Associate Director of Sports Performance in the following areas:
  • Scheduling the Santora Elite Training Center (Center) for team use.
  • Developing and implementing an orientation program for new student athletes.
  • Maintaining and repairing the Center, as well as the equipment contained therein.

Required What It Takes to be Successful

• Strong interpersonal, motivational, and team leadership skills to work effectively with athletic participants.
• Ability to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making; be an effective problem solver and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Specialized knowledge of the team sport or activity and demonstrated technical expertise in coaching principles.
• Leadership skills to mentor and develop athletes.
• Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times, avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
• Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Maintain CPR / AED and First Aid certification.

Preferred

• 1-3 years working at a Division 1 school.
• 1-3 years working as a strength & conditioning coach.

Special Conditions

• Must be willing to travel.
• Must work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
