About the role

The Adult Intensivist Nurse Practitioner will provide advanced practice care to critically ill adult patients in the intensive care unit. Working collaboratively with intensivists, residents, and the multidisciplinary care team, the NP will be responsible for admission evaluations, daily rounding on patients, and managing cross-coverage calls. This role includes performing comprehensive assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, initiating and adjusting treatment plans, and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. The NP will also participate in care coordination, documentation, and communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support optimal clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced practice care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU

Requirements

  • Expertise in ICU procedures (intubations, tracheostomy, chest tubes, central/arterial lines)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Collaborative, patient-centered approach to care
  • Current California Nurse Practitioner license
  • Graduate from an accredited NP Master’s Program
  • Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years direct Intensivist experience preferred
  • Critical and Pulmonary care experience
