$25.00 an hour starting, up to $33.04 an hour on weekend overnight shifts. Night and weekend pay stack on top of your base rate. Annual raises: 5% after year one, 5% again after year two. Four years of comparable experience starts you at $29.24 an hour.

Responsibilities

  • Support people with disabilities and mental health needs in living the life they choose, including daily activities like morning routines, meal preparation, and transportation to appointments or jobs.
  • Implement behavior management, safety planning, and de-escalation strategies during crisis or high-stress situations.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, feeding, and medication management/monitoring.
  • Teach new coping skills, improve social skills, and foster independence through behavioral coaching and skill building.
  • Maintain a safe environment, including 24/7 monitoring in residential treatment centers or group homes.
  • Coordinate care by working with treatment teams, families, and schools to develop and follow transition plans.
  • Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of daily activities, behavioral changes, and incidents.
  • Advocate for individual rights and promote self-advocacy.
  • Implement and adhere to Individual Treatment Plans, Behavior Management Plans, Independent Living Plans, Personal Support Plans, and AWARE Inc.’s Unconditional Care Philosophy.

Requirements

  • 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check.
  • Reliable attendance for shifts, as individuals depend on your presence.
  • Patience and compassion for individuals on their worst days.
  • Ability to implement Individual Treatment Plans, Behavior Management Plans, Independent Living Plans, and Personal Support Plans as written.
  • Competence in supporting activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, toileting, mobility, and medication monitoring (per agency policy).
  • Skill in teaching and reinforcing coping skills, social skills, and independent living skills.
  • Capacity to follow and reinforce structured behavioral interventions and reinforcement systems.

Schedule

Full-time positions available, including weekend-only shifts. Flexible scheduling options: days, evenings, overnights, and weekends to accommodate other commitments like work or study.
