Job Summary

The Intelligence Analyst-Senior-Honest Broker delivers analytics solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making. This role leads the design and enhancement of dashboards, reports, and visualizations that transform complex data into actionable insights. The analyst collaborates with business and clinical leaders to define priorities, mentor junior staff, and ensure data quality and consistency. As the expert on the Honest Broker process, they manage data access governance, security, and compliance while maintaining efficient, secure reporting systems using Epic, Qlik, and related analytics platforms.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience in data intelligence analytics and SQL reporting.
  • Epic certification or accreditation in one of the following data models required post-hire within six (6) months: Clinical Data Model, Access Data Model or Revenue Data Model.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of process flow, efficiency, and quality improvement, with the ability to interpret and apply regulations to ensure compliance with policies and data privacy standards such as HIPAA.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across diverse teams.
  • Skilled in critical thinking, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis, with proficiency in business and operational data analysis, relational databases, system integration, and reporting.
  • Experienced in leveraging technology and data to improve efficiency, quality, and safety in healthcare settings.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of management principles with the ability to guide and mentor others.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and oversees the Honest Broker process, ensuring compliant, efficient, and secure data access and release practices.
  • Leads data management and analytics initiatives, implementing standards for data quality, analysis, and visualization, and serving as a resource on emerging technologies.
  • Plans and directs complex projects, defining scope, objectives, and deliverables to align with organizational goals while ensuring collaboration across teams and vendors.
  • Mentors and guides team members, sharing expertise and promoting best practices in analytics and data governance.
  • Implements and maintains enterprise data systems, applications, and dataflows supporting the Honest Broker process and analytics platforms such as Epic and Qlik.
  • Designs and optimizes reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to deliver actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyzes healthcare data across research, clinical, financial, and operational domains to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborates with business, clinical, and IT teams to define reporting requirements and ensure seamless, accurate data integration.
  • Assists stakeholders in interpreting data, defining KPIs, and developing data-driven solutions.
  • Develops and maintains documentation, provides end-user training, and supports compliance with UMMC standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Represents the Honest Broker function on committees and workgroups, communicating progress and ensuring alignment with institutional initiatives.
  • Promotes positive customer relationships and adherence to UMMC and IT compliance standards.

  • Occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations.
