About the role
We are seeking an Intellectual Property Senior Associate or Senior Counsel with a minimum of six years of experience. Candidates may apply for any of our offices, including our virtual office, The Link.
The ideal candidate will be registered with the USPTO and hold a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biotechnology Engineering, or a related field. Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:
- Global patent prosecution and portfolio management
- Freedom to operate and patent clearance
- Licensing and other technology transactions
- Due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions
Requirements
- Active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which you are applying, or a commitment to obtain one as soon as possible
- Excellent academic credentials
- Superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure
- Exceptional judgment and the ability to effectively handle multiple projects
- Ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action
- Commitment to the community

- New York, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, D.C.: $260,000–$340,000
- California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington: $250,000–$340,000
- Illinois: $235,000–$320,000
- Minnesota: $235,000–$300,000
- All other markets: varies based on market data
Senior Counsel:
- New York, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, D.C.: $155,000–$350,000
- California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington: $170,000–$350,000
- Illinois: $180,000–$340,000
- Minnesota: $180,000–$300,000
- All other markets: varies based on market data
Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
