Intellectual Property Security Engineer

About the role

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Hardware IP Security team. This role involves protecting NVIDIA's intellectual property from misuse, collaborating with engineering teams to build secure workflows, and contributing to the development of security policies and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Play a vital role in protecting NVIDIA's intellectual property from malicious and accidental misuse
  • Help engineering teams build secure-by-default workflows and environments
  • Craft training materials and implement security policies and methodologies
  • Investigate newly discovered threats to the integrity of NVIDIA's security infrastructure
  • Understand security industry standards and enable others to follow those standards
  • Define priorities, plan schedules, and build relationships with other teams
  • Collaborate extensively with other Security, Hardware Engineering, and IT partners to improve existing practices and policies, and reduce the impact of security requirements on engineering productivity

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A mentality of improving the productivity and work experience of internal customers
  • Established and led high-performing technical teams across hardware engineering and/or information security, driving multi-functional initiatives, mentoring engineers, and delivering secure, reliable systems from design through deployment
  • Strong threat-modeling experience, including data flows, trust boundaries, STRIDE-style analysis, and translating findings into mitigations
  • Ability to prioritize practical risk reduction in a fast-moving engineering environment
  • Experience securing Linux-based on-prem or cloud infrastructure at scale, including authentication, authorization, hardening, patching, logging, and incident response
  • Comfortable presenting to and working with senior management to convey risk and work to prioritize mitigation
  • Bachelor's, Master's in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience

Qualifications

  • Extensive interpersonal collaboration with other Security, Hardware Engineering, and IT partners
  • Experience securing AI-assisted developer workflows, including connected CLIs, agent permissions, prompt injection, data leakage, and autonomous execution controls
  • Experience with security monitoring, audit logging, detection engineering, and investigation of suspicious activity
  • Familiarity with EDA workflows, semiconductor design environments, or other large-scale engineering/HPC environments

Strong interpersonal skills, established leadership experience, and a proven track record of success in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Benefits

NVIDIA offers competitive compensation packages, including base salaries ranging from $184,000 to $287,500 for Level 4 and $224,000 to $356,500 for Level 5, depending on location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. Additionally, employees are eligible for equity and comprehensive benefits.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $184,000 - $287,500 for Level 4 and $224,000 - $356,500 for Level 5.
