Intellectual Property Associate - Multiple Offices
About the role
The ideal candidate will have four to six years of patent drafting and prosecution experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and prosecute U.S. provisional, utility, and international patent applications
- Prepare patentability opinions
- Strategically plan and maintain patent portfolios
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (JD) and USPTO registration required
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required; graduate degree a plus
- Must be licensed to practice in state where the office resides
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong academic record and excellent written and oral communication skills required
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- This job operates in a clerical, office setting
- Routine use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers, telephones, printers, and copiers
- Sedentary work: Exertion of physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 10 pounds. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties
Compensation & Benefits
The salary ranges for this position apply to the respective listed locations. The salary range reflects a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position.
Reasonable estimates of the current ranges for this position are:
- New Jersey: $215,000 - $245,000
- New York & Washington, DC: $240,000 - $270,000
- Massachusetts: $235,000 - $265,000
