About the role
The Integrations Developer (Term Position) supports the implementation and integration of financial aid systems within a multi-institutional higher education environment. This role involves designing and developing integrations between financial aid applications and enterprise systems using APIs, as well as building and maintaining file-based integrations within a SQL Server environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test scalable ETL data integrations across multiple API standards (e.g., REST, SOAP, web services) to support growing data volume and complexity.
- Lead knowledge transfer sessions by presenting solutions to technical and functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment with established standards and best practices.
- Carefully coordinate and manage integration efforts with vendors, functional teams, developers, and project stakeholders throughout the full implementation lifecycle.
- Perform system, integration, and user acceptance testing to validate end-to-end business processes and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Maintain project management systems of record, including tracking project status, milestones, tasks, and time reporting, to support accurate performance metrics and reporting for ET&S management.
Requirements
- Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in application integration, software development, or middleware technologies. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong customer service and support skills, verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills to work productively in a highly collaborative environment. Experience with project management tools and methodologies. Experience with large scale enterprise application implementation, integration, maintenance, and support. Experience with any of the following technologies: GIT, JavaScript, Java, SQL, SOAP or REST-based APIs, WSQL, C/C++. Experience translating business requirements into functional and non-functional system requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of information security best practices, especially related to regulated data.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following Workday tools (Workday Studio, Workday Orchestrate, Extend, Workday Reports, EIB).
- Basic understanding of XML, XSL, JSON.
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Experience with Financial Aid applications, such as PowerFAIDS.
- Experience working with Department of Education TDClient, ISIR, or COD files.
