About the role

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks—from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies. We are looking for talented technicians to help full-scale production of the Leo satellites. The success of Leo depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, throughput, and security of the products you deliver.

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures
  • Assemble, with emphasis on detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
  • Participate in process improvements and maintain floor stock inventory
  • Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
  • Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients (using pallet jacks, kit carts, etc.)
  • Contribute to improving SOPs and safety procedures

Requirements

  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, multimeters, torque wrenches)
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum (due to applicable export control laws and regulations)
  • 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
  • CFOT certification or equivalent experience
  • Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
  • ASE certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD-sensitive hardware, and clean room requirements
  • Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical, and/or Harness Integration
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

Pay

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour, with incremental raises based on tenure. Base pay information is based on market location.
