Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the work of the EE Integrated Hardware Design Engineers and Designers and oversee their output for throughput and quality.
- Plan and schedule work assignments for the team.
- Monitor project schedules, timelines and deliverables using standard project management tools and related engineering systems.
- Provide leadership and act as an advisor for determining engineering objectives, guide project planning, oversee design reviews, technical assessments, and design control documentation.
- Responsible for the design and integration of routed cables for aircraft, GCS, GSE, and payloads used in unmanned air vehicle systems.
- Designing of cables and wire harnesses that interconnect electronic equipment within the vehicle.
- Responsible for generating 3D models of routed cables, cable assembly drawings, cable lengths, routing details, and cable BOMs.
- Responsible for oversight of cable integrations to ensure cables are routed as designed.
- Applies basic technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned routine engineering problems.
- Develops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions and communicates results to project engineering staff.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD.
- May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
- Must have a general understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment and organize work assignments to meet established timetables.
- Good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills are required to enable an effective interface with other professionals, to produce appropriate documentation, and to present results to a limited internal audience.
- Able to work both independently and on a team.
- Able to work extended hours as required.
- Able to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.
