Integration Engineer (Mulesoft)

About the role

The IT Software Engineer (P2) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions supporting BFS business capabilities across omni-channel, supply chain, and enterprise platforms. The role involves building APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications and services in alignment with BFS standards and SDLC practices
• Contribute to building APIs, microservices, and event-driven integrations across enterprise systems
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to implement scalable and secure solutions
• Translate functional and technical requirements into working code and technical designs
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives) and deliver committed work
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues; participate in on-call rotations where applicable
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and architectural standards
• Support integration with platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, messaging/event frameworks, and third-party SaaS systems
• Document technical designs, code, and implementation details
• Continuously improve code quality, performance, and maintainability
• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Aid in evaluating new tools, frameworks, and technologies

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
• 2-5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, preferably in Integration Development & Delivery
• Experience with one or more programming languages (Java, .NET, Python, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with RESTful services, microservices architecture, and event-driven patterns
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and containerization concepts (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Experience with API Gateway/Proxy patterns and integration middleware
• Exposure to SAP ecosystems (S/4HANA integrations) or enterprise platforms like Salesforce
• Experience with ETL/ELT concepts, data integration, and data movement platforms
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Experience with messaging/event technologies (Kafka, Pub/Sub)
• Experience with SAP Open Connectors for integrating SaaS and third-party applications
• Understanding of B2B integration patterns and data exchange standards (X12, EDIFACT)

Pay

The base wage for this role is [insert base wage]. This position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law. Schedule

This role is eligible for a flexible schedule that may include occasional travel to support external projects or client meetings.
