Integration Architect III
About the role
The Integration Architect III is responsible for the integration of applications across the business. The role also involves design, system validation, and implementation and upgrade activities across solutions and venues of care.
Responsibilities
- Maintains primary ownership for the design, build and maintenance of highly complex interfaces and other data integration elements.
- Independently resolves the most complex interface errors and data integration issues.
- Learns large projects and functions as a data integration expert on complex, cross-functional projects.
- Demonstrates advanced understanding of the data flow among applications throughout the Client application architecture and works directly with the Application teams to resolve complex data integration issues.
- Actively leads and takes ownership for the design, build and maintenance of system interfaces and other data integration elements.
- Troubleshoots and resolves highly complex interface errors and other data integration issues.
- Demonstrates responsibility for addressing a high volume of system-related activities in a timely fashion while consistently maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Understands the business use of clinical and non-clinical applications and works with the Application teams to help resolve data integration issues related to those systems.
- Manages data integration concerns for the end-users.
- Participates in the design, build and maintenance of system interfaces and other data integration elements.
- Demonstrates responsibility for monitoring system interfaces and interface engine to proactively identify potential issues and assist in troubleshooting and resolving data integration issues.
- Demonstrates responsibility for testing the data integration components of systems, including any configurations, customizations, and new releases, prior to production implementation.
- Demonstrates responsibility for communicating system changes to the end-user and training staff.
- Participates as a team member in various projects, including those lead by the PMO.
- Prepares for and participates in system design, validation and/or remediation sessions.
- Works with vendors to insure deliverables are met on time, in budget and in scope.
- Works with application teams to assist with the design and execution of integrated system interfaces and other data integration elements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 or more years of healthcare application integration work experience including experience with Health Level 7 (HL7) interface programming, healthcare industry-specific interface standards and code sets (ANSI, HIPAA, SNOMED, etc.), and interface engines and tools (e.g. Cloverleaf) required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant architecture experience, preferably within an acute hospital environment required.
- Advanced level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design and integration required.
- Minimum one (1) year experience managing medium to large data integration projects required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications required.
- Two (2) or more years' experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) preferred.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems field or equivalent work experience. In lieu of degree, 15 years relevant experience.
- License/Certification: Valid New Jersey Driver's License required.
Skills
- Advanced level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design and integration.
- Experience with Health Level 7 (HL7) interface programming, healthcare industry-specific interface standards and code sets (ANSI, HIPAA, SNOMED, etc.), and interface engines and tools (e.g. Cloverleaf).
- Experience managing medium to large data integration projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.

Pay

Schedule
This position requires local travel and participation in a 24/7 department on-call program. On-call employees are required to carry a department issued phone or pager, respond to calls within 15 minutes, troubleshoot problems and provide services off-site as needed and be available to provide services on-site as needed within 1 ½ hours of being called or paged to respond. This position also requires participation in meetings outside of normal business hours including occasional evenings and/or weekends.
