About the role
Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As an Integration Architect, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.
Responsibilities
- Develop enterprise integration and API strategy and roadmaps aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
- Lead and evolve the Integration/API Center of Excellence to drive standardization, governance, and best practices across the organization
- Establish and maintain enterprise integration patterns, reference architectures, and reusable frameworks to support modernization efforts
- Evolve API and integration standards, governance frameworks, and best practices in alignment with the Enterprise Architecture team
- Champion design-first/contract-first API development methodologies and mentor teams on modern integration patterns
- Implement monitoring, observability, analytics, and lifecycle management processes across APIs and integration platforms
- Develop and govern asynchronous/event-driven integration patterns, including event schema standards and streaming architectures
- Lead adoption and optimization of API management platforms and developer enablement capabilities (e.g., API portals, discovery, self-service)
- Partner with engineering and product teams to design and implement scalable integration solutions that align with enterprise architecture strategy
- Provide thought leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to architects and engineering teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in software development and/or architecture
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS
- Deep understanding of integration patterns, API management, and distributed systems design
- Proven experience implementing and governing event-driven architecture and asynchronous integration patterns
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for integration platforms
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred) and cloud-native deployment models
- Strong understanding of API security, including OAuth, JWT, and related best practices
- Experience with API testing, validation, and OpenAPI specifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or contributing to an API/Integration Center of Excellence
- Experience defining enterprise API maturity models or integration frameworks
- Experience with API management platforms (e.g., MuleSoft or similar)
- Experience with developer portals and improving API discoverability and developer experience
- Knowledge of banking systems, payments, or financial services technology
- Experience integrating identity and access management solutions (OAuth, OIDC, SAML)
- Familiarity with containerization, service mesh, and cloud-native architecture patterns
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive enterprise-wide adoption of integration standards
Pay
The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $160,000 or the hourly equivalent. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications.
