Integrated Watershed Management Business Class Lead for Water Resource Plan Formulation

About the role

The Business Class Lead (BCL) at HDR will work with the Business Class Director (BCD) and HDR peers on monitoring and improvement of technical competencies, staff development, and execution of work associated with water resource planning that meets federal planning standards and expectations. The overall goal of the role is to promote a quality culture, drive or support BC initiatives that drive growth and project delivery, and work with areas to hire, train and support career progression of staff within this technical service area.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a quality culture through project delivery excellence and staff coaching.
  • Serve as a Quality Control lead, technical advisor, and technical lead (i.e., Project Manager or Task Manager) for specific projects.
  • Work with project teams to field needs and align staff to meet delivery expectations and develop strategy to promote knowledge transfer and staff development within water resource plan formulation.
  • Lead or support Business Class sponsored standards and guidelines (i.e., best practices) technical tools, checklists, workflows, and techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency.
  • Promote forward thinking delivery and strategy approaches as well as technology use and adoption.
  • Participate in tactical planning including engaging others within HDR to align initiatives with market drivers and client needs.
  • Maintain awareness related to industry trends and drivers.
  • Implement actions associated with annual planning including leading or supporting recruiting key positions in partnership with others.
  • Work with others within HDR including client facing and marketing staff to track, develop and share qualifications and project approaches.
  • Engage on specific pursuits as a lead or team member.
  • Drive industry facing strategies associated with technical service area (e.g., professional association engagement, webinars, workshops, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience.
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Good leadership and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading plan formulation for Federal clients. Specific experience with the USACE’s Principles, Requirements and Guidelines (PR&G) ideal.
  • Required Qualifications: Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to successful project outcomes.

Pay

Expected compensation range for this position is $160,000-$250,000 depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
