Job Summary

The Integrated Systems Solutions Architect provides technical leadership across integrated systems and infrastructure throughout design/assist, construction, and turnover phases. This role is responsible for validating scope, aligning system interfaces, and ensuring technical designs are translated into constructable, field-ready execution strategies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead system-level scope review with subcontractors, vendors, and design partners to validate completeness, constructability, and interface boundaries.
  • Develop and support integrated system solutions across Div 26E, Div 27, Div 28, fire/life safety, network, and security systems.
  • Identify scope gaps, coordination conflicts, assumptions, and risks early to protect procurement and field execution.
  • Translate design intent into field-ready, executable work packages aligned with sequencing, procurement, and installation requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership through design development, submittals, procurement, field execution, and turnover.
  • Challenge system-level assumptions to ensure scope is coordinated across all trades and supports full system integration.
  • Support leadership in selecting practical execution strategies when design, procurement, or sequencing priorities conflict.
  • Maintain involvement through submittals, RFIs, revisions, and field issue resolution to ensure continuity from design to execution.
  • Collaborate with field leadership to resolve technical issues without disrupting production flow.
  • Ensure technical readiness for procurement, installation, testing, and turnover milestones.
  • Closely collaborate with field leadership to resolve technical issues without disrupting production flow.
  • Close technical gaps prior to mobilization to ensure a clean handoff from design to construction.
  • Participate directly in design/assist and design-build processes, influencing constructability and execution strategy early.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of integrated systems including electrical (Div 26), low-voltage (Div 27/28), fire/life safety, and network infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in design/assist and design-build project delivery environments.
  • Strong constructability expertise with the ability to translate design into field-executable plans.
  • Ability to identify and resolve system-level coordination issues across multiple trades.
  • Strong knowledge of submittals, RFIs, revisions, field changes, testing, and turnover processes.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions with subcontractors, engineers, and field teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on proactive risk identification and mitigation.
  • Able to remain engaged across all project phases from design through execution and turnover.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Able to balance technical rigor with practical execution needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and drive alignment across stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality, completeness, and execution readiness.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in integrated systems design, construction, or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
  • Proven experience working in design/assist or design-build project delivery models.
  • Experience coordinating across Div 26, Div 27, Div 28, and related integrated systems.
  • Background working with subcontractors and trade partners on complex system integration.
  • Experience supporting field execution and resolving technical issues in active construction environments.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, testing, and turnover processes.
  • RCCD or similar industry certifications preferred.

Work Environment

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This role requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in active construction environments.
  • Close vision is required for reading plans, specifications, and field documentation.
