Summary
The Integrated Systems Developer will build and support custom online applications that empower Georgia Cyber Academy staff and students. The developer will meet with stakeholders to understand problems and extend/build tools for faster problem-solving, automation, or data analysis.
Essential Functions
- Develop and design RESTful services and APIs
- Apply latest software design techniques and contribute to the technical design of new solutions
- Write object-oriented and maintainable code
- Consult with engineers, data analysts, and other IT specialists to determine system specifications
- Communicate concepts, recommendations, and solutions effectively with customers and management
- Architect, design, develop web applications and cloud solutions to meet customer/product requirements
- Provide support and maintenance for existing software and/or web applications/products
- Deliver quality results on time with minimal supervision
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development/Support (70%)
- Create browser-based applications to support special projects at Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA)
- Create intuitive interfaces to support effective data analysis and accurate data entry
- Create secure back-ends to retrieve and store relevant information
- Create and use integrations with existing GCA and external tools
- Create and run automated tests
- Application Support (20%)
- Work directly with users to determine new and improved features
- Support users encountering bugs or facing issues in applications
- Maintain backlog of upcoming updates and bugfixes
- Deploy changes to production code
- Information Systems Development (10%)
- Create and maintain documentation for applications, and help guides for end users
- Support system administrators by writing and deploying automated scripts
- Advocate for best practices within Georgia Cyber Academy (GCA)'s Operations team
- Drive simplicity for our end-users (students, parents, staff), even when back-end data is complex

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in JavaScript, API, HTML, Node, React, MySQL
- Previous web development, programming required
- Object Oriented Analysis/Design & GUI development experience
- Proven ability to learn and self-teach new technical skills
- Certificates and Licenses desired: Advanced Degree in Computer Science or related field of study, GA PSC Teaching/Educational Certificate, TKES/LKES credentialed, Clear Fingerprint/Background Check Required
Other Required Qualifications
- Comfortable with client-side and server-side development
- Experience implementing technology platforms
- Experience using search engines (internet) for research projects

- Consistent access to reliable high-speed internet
- Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation
- Ability to travel 20% of the time as required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with SQL and API-driven integrations is strongly preferred
- Three (3) years of experience working in a K-12 educational environment in the Technology Department or as technology support
- Three (3) years virtual educational environment experience
- Previous experience as a Learning Coach, Advisor, or Teacher at Georgia Cyber Academy
- Previous experience with online educational tools/curriculum/assessments
