Responsibilities
- Perform complex on-site diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment with focus on established and new John Deere AMS technologies.
- Willing to travel to any BTI customer inside or outside our area of responsibility.
- Review and explain technology, maintenance, repair, or other service concerns directly with the customer and document to work orders.
- Promote and sell dealer service programs directly to customers.
- Complete reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
- Implement effective stocking processes with Parts department to maintain proper seasonal part inventory for common repairs.
- Maintain condition of mobile service vehicle, inventory, tools and equipment.
- Follow safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
- Account for all time and material used in performing assigned duties.
- Complete John Deere training courses and other continuing education classes, as assigned.
- Disseminate information learned to other BTI employees. Be willing to give presentations at internal and customer meetings.
Requirements
- 3+ years of agricultural experience, preferably John Deere experience.
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
- Ability to use Service Advisor and perform basic computer functions.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
Skills And Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required; associates degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license is required; CDL and forklift license preferred.
