Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Elizabethtown Campus is hiring an Integrated Pest Management Technician. The position supports the mission of providing award-winning care and services while offering a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Assists in planning, coordinating, and performing plant health practices to maintain the campus, including lawn and garden care.
- Develops, implements, monitors, and documents a comprehensive Plant Health Care program for all landscape-valued plant material across campus.
- Maintains work areas and vehicles in an orderly and clean manner, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Operates all equipment safely as outlined in operating manuals, using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Contributes to the tree planting program and practices on campus, working with the Tree Specialist/Landscape Gardener and Department Leaders.
- Understands and properly handles pesticides, including quantifying chemical mixtures, ratios, rates, and application processes.
- Fertilizes lawns and plants, applies herbicides or pesticides to maintain foliage health, and maintains accurate records of applications.
- Participates in general landscape care, as directed by the Landscape Supervisor.
- Operates landscape and snow removal equipment, understands basic horticultural practices, and follows best management practices.
- Aids in educating landscape gardeners in plant health identification, treatments, and safety measures, coordinating with the Landscape Supervisor.
- Performs snow operations on campus, including plowing, equipment operation, salting, and shoveling, including off-hours call-ins.
- Completes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) generated work orders and provides clear documentation of work as required.
- Generates work orders for additional tasks and completes or submits them as needed.
- Maintains accurate records of time for cost distribution and payroll.
Requirements
- A high school graduate or equivalent.
- Secondary education degree or applicable certification preferred.
- A valid Pa. Driver's License, Class A - Commercial Driver's License preferred.
- Minimum of four years training in horticulture, either technical or on-the-job, desirable.
- Ability to acquire a PA state pesticide applicator's certification Category 6 and 7, IPM training preferred.
- Good written, oral, organizational, and basic computer skills.
