Integrated Co-Teaching Grade 6 Special Education Teacher- Grades K-5

About the role

The position is designed for an Integrated Co-Teaching Special Education Teacher who will work in grades K-5. The teacher will be part of a team that includes general education teachers and special education teachers to provide instruction to students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities in collaboration with general education teachers.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in IEP meetings and other professional development activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Current, valid New York State (NYS) certification.
• Fingerprint clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with disabilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in using assistive technology.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Pay

Salary is determined according to the collective bargaining agreement and will be provided upon hire.

Schedule

The schedule will be determined based on the needs of the school district and the teacher's qualifications.
