Responsibilities
- Provide initial contact for the Hospital admission process
- Assess/triage patients for appropriateness for Admission during initial assessment
- Complete intake process to include related paperwork, review, and obtain signatures on all patients/and or authorized person
- Absorb insurance benefits, and gather demographic information
- Create patient charts, ensuring all required information is included and documented appropriately
- Discuss behavioral/psychiatric issues with appropriate staff as needed
- Consult/seek supervision from Director of Admissions as needed
- Prepare appropriate referrals and document reasons if unable to admit
- Triage and assess patients for appropriateness and eligibility over phone or in person
- Troubleshoot any problems that may occur during the shift
- Maintain up-to-date required training
- Perform other related assignments as directed by the Director of Admissions
Requirements
- Current TEXAS license (LPC-A, LPC, LMSW, LCSW)
- Master's Degree in the Behavioral Health field (Counseling, Psychology or Social Work)
- 2 years of behavioral health experience preferred
- Work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is needed
- Able to multi-task and knowledgeable with computer software and type proficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Knowledgeable with crisis center
- Professional and pleasant demeanor
