Intake Specialist CBH

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for intake functions for pre-admission
• Review of admission criteria and admission of patients with medical needs
• Builds personal and trusting relationships with referral sources and department personnel
• Maximizes clinical data collection to support the most appropriate MSDRG by utilizing knowledge of admission criteria, DRGs, utilization management and HIM coding
• Reports to work in a timely manner and adheres to policies, procedures, and processes
• Performs other job duties as needed and/or as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Requires good organizational, time management and communication skills
• Requires the ability to work independently and to prioritize responsibilities
• Experience in third party reimbursement, DRGs, coding and PPS reimbursement is preferred
• Behavioral Health experience is preferred
• Must be able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written means
