Responsibilities
- Deliver quality general and psychiatric nursing care to patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders.
- Serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.
- Timely processing of inquiry and referral calls.
- Coordination of all admissions processes and serving as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit and hospital personnel involved with each admission.
- Respond to crisis calls and referrals with sense of urgency, verify insurance, triage patients, complete assessments, ability to staff clinical effectively, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete all admission paperwork with patient.
- Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patient to unit.
- Complete nursing admission assessment and coordinate patient’s move from intake to the unit.
- Able to administer and document prescribed medication and treatments.
- Follow hospital’s policies and procedures regarding admissions.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate's Degree of Nursing.
- Experience: 1-3 years of nursing experience preferred.
- Licensure: Current SC RN license or an RN license from compact state required.
