Job Summary And Qualifications
The Intake Licensed Mental Health Professional III facilitates high quality, patient-centered care by providing psychiatric treatment services to patients and their families. The Mental Health Professional III performs assessments, psycho-education, process groups, treatment planning, discharge planning and therapeutic counseling support through evidenced based interventions in individual, family, and group therapy.
What you will do in this role
- You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of psychiatric patients.
- You will instruct patients and families regarding treatment instructions.
- Demonstrates advanced clinical skills and ability to plan and facilitate individual, group and family psychoeducational and process groups.
- Develops treatment plans and attends treatment planning meetings and reviews on an ongoing basis.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to assess and coordinate patient’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge.
- Provides guidance on complex issues.
- Conducts post-discharge follow-up as indicated.
- Facilitates and participates in Community Education, Activities and Support Groups, as appropriate to scope.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a Human Services related field (Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or Counseling)
- Advanced educational preparation or experience in the area of clinical practice and/or management
- Currently licensed as one of the following professionals in the state(s) of practice, according to law and regulation: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)*, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)*, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)*
- Must be authorized by the state to provide outpatient psychiatry treatment services to Medicare beneficiaries.
- American Heart Association BLS (within 30 days of hire)
- Crisis Intervention Prevention (CPI) training required (within 30 days of hire)
Other
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Other-Fingerprint Required
- Masters Degree(LCSW) Clinical Social Worker, or (LPC/LMHC) Licensed Professional/Mental Health Counselor, or (LMFT) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or (PSYCH) Psychologist
