Intake Counselor
About the role
Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Intake Counselor to join our team of professionals who are dedicated to providing help and hope to individuals and families for the achievement of improving their mental health as a local pain management clinic.
Responsibilities
Responds to telephone and face-to-face inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services
Conducts clinical assessments; utilizes appropriate clinical forms during assessment; develops sound knowledge of applicable criteria; provides a comfortable caring approach to clients
Documentation reviews show that forms, notes, and other applicable written information has been completed promptly and accurately
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.), or RN - preferably BSN.
- Licensure/Certification: Licensed Louisiana RN, LCSW, LMSW, LPC, PLPC preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
