Intake Coordinator - Remote/Michigan Residents Preferred

Position Summary

Are you someone who enjoys helping patients feel supported while keeping details organized behind the scenes? We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Intake Coordinator to join our growing healthcare team. In this role, you’ll be a key part of the patient journey—ensuring a smooth, informed, and positive start to care.

What You’ll Do

• Guide new patients through the intake process, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and efficiently
• Verify insurance benefits across multiple payers, including coverage for medications and therapies
• Request and track prior authorizations, proactively managing renewals before expiration
• Enter and maintain patient information in electronic systems with a high level of accuracy
• Communicate clearly with patients regarding coverage details and expected out-of-pocket costs
• Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure a seamless transition into care
• Navigate multiple insurance portals and websites daily
• Deliver exceptional customer service that enhances the overall patient experience

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a customer service role; background as a medical receptionist or intake coordinator is highly preferred
• Solid understanding of insurance benefits, prior authorizations, and coverage terminology
• Strong administrative and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
• Clear, compassionate communication skills—both verbal and written
• A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Requirements

• Prior authorization experience: 1 year (required)
• Insurance benefits verification: 2 years (required)
• IV infusion experience: 1 year (preferred)

Pay Rate

Minimum $23.50 per hour; compensation will vary based on experience and qualifications
