Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations, including substance use history, medical/psychiatric history, physical exams, and necessary lab tests.
- Evaluate for co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Provide diagnoses and formulate differential diagnoses.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with the patient and team, including MAT, counseling, and support.
- Order and manage MAT. Determine and adjust dosages, monitor effectiveness and side effects, and educate patients on medication.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. Make referrals for specialized care and communicate with other providers.
- Maintain accurate documentation. Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, DEA) and agency policies.
- Stay current with best practices. Participate in quality assurance and contribute to program development.
- Educate patients and families. Offer support and address stigma.
Requirements
- Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with an unrestricted license in Tennessee and/or Virginia.
- DEA License and DEA X-Waiver in good standing.
- No reportable items to the National Practitioner Data Bank within the last ten (10) years.
- Active TennCare Number.
- One year of experience in treatment of opioid or other substance use disorders.
