Insurance Verification Specialist

About the role

Chord Specialty Dental Partners, a leading provider of pediatric and orthodontic dental care, is seeking an experienced Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team in West Chester, PA.

Responsibilities

• Contact the insurance companies to verify coverage and the need for a prior authorization.
• Maintain an open line of communication with the front desk staff to ensure patient charts are up to date with correct insurance information prior to the scheduled appointment.
• Educate parents to contact their insurance company if a benefit is not covered or to ensure they have an advocate to obtain timely payments for the center prior to the date of service.
• Add new coverages into the system.
• Alert offices when appointments need to be cancelled.
• Call parents to obtain new coverages.
• Verify scheduled appointments.
• Ensure that all existing data and coverage tables are accurate.
• Enter patients’ insurance information accurately in the computer system.
• Greet the public with warmth, compassion, and pride while attending to the needs of patients and families.
• Inform patients of self‑pay rates due when the insurance company is out of network for the facility.
• Perform all other duties as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED (required).
• Experience with insurance verification (strongly preferred).
• Minimum one year of experience in a hospital or medical/dental office setting (required).
• Working knowledge of dental/medical terminology and familiarity with a variety of insurances.
• Excellent people handling and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A high degree of accuracy in obtaining and recording information; computer skills.

Pay

$19 – $23 per hour

Schedule

Monday – Thursday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (in office); Friday: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm (remote)
