Insurance Service Specialist (Licensed)

This role is based at our headquarters on River Drive in Moline, IL. The Insurance Service Specialist provides exceptional member service to existing and new policy holders, aligning with the Pathfinder culture of the credit union. We are hiring for either a Service Specialist (2+ years of experience) or a Senior Service Specialist (5+ years of experience). Title and compensation will be based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional service to members and potential clients on all inquiries including policy changes, coverage or billing questions, claims questions, or inquiries on existing policies.
• Documents all member interactions and requests completely and accurately.
• Obtains signatures on new business policies and processes new business files, checking for coverage accuracy, forms and signatures, correct billing information, and completion of post-issuance forms.
• Thoroughly reviews existing members' policies and periodically shops around with carriers for best pricing, offering the option to rewrite with another carrier if beneficial to the member.
• Conducts all transactions in accordance with State Insurance laws, Agency, and IHMVCU policy.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Property and Casualty license.
• Exceptional member service, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated professional oral and written communication skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Reliable, dependable, and responsible in all situations.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting: Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, including conveying detailed or important instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Hearing: Perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, receiving detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
• Finger, handle, touch: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers; applying pressure with fingers and palm. Perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touch.
• Lifting Demands: Up to 10 lbs.
• Visual acuity: Preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
