Insurance Sales Agent - N. Riverside, IL
About the role
This is a relationship-driven sales role with long-term income potential through commission. We know building a client base takes time, which is why we offer ramp-up earnings support during your first months as you grow your pipeline and book of business.
Responsibilities
- Own the sale and ongoing service of ACG-branded and brokered insurance products, memberships, and financial products within a high-traffic ACG branch;
- Uncover customer needs, generate new business, retain existing clients, grow ACG's insurance portfolio, overcome objections, negotiate effectively, close sales, and meet or exceed individual sales targets and incentive plan expectations;
- Conduct comprehensive insurance reviews to assess risk, identify coverage gaps, recommend appropriate solutions, and quote, bind, and issue policies in accordance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements;
- Build and maintain strong rapport with members and clients, respond to inquiries with professionalism and urgency, and support high customer satisfaction, loyalty, and trust in the AAA brand;
- Actively engage in local branch and community events to prospect, expand referral networks, develop new business opportunities, and identify cross-sell and referral opportunities into Travel and Financial Services to maximize overall member value.
Requirements
- Active State Property & Casualty Insurance Sales license
- Active State Life and Health Insurance Sales license, or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Must qualify, obtain, and maintain all applicable state licenses and appointments required for selling and/or servicing Auto Club Group Membership products
- Obtain Health and Accident licenses and appointments where applicable as deemed necessary and within a time frame established by the Business Unit
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year(s) of customer-facing experience in a fast-paced computer automated business environment (i.e., financial/banking)
- Insurance experience is helpful—but not required

- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and close sales opportunities, including disciplined lead tracking, follow-up, pipeline management, and accountability for achieving and exceeding performance goals
- Apply consultative selling techniques supported by deep product knowledge, strong listening skills, and the ability to quickly assess customer needs, identify coverage gaps, recommend appropriate solutions, and deliver tailored value
- Prowess in generating new opportunities through referrals, outbound activity, networking, and other business-development efforts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer-first mindset and confidence in guiding sales conversations
- Proficient in leveraging technology to support sales execution, including CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications

Pay
Base pay (non-exempt) Typical Starting Earnings $57,000 - $62,000+ (First-year, based on performance) Additional Compensation Ramp-up support $2,500 Processed 30 and 60 days of employment Supplemental Pay for six months: $200/week during months 0–2 $150/week during months 3–4 $100/week during months 5–6 Performance Incentives Elevated commission structure during the first 15 months New Hire On-Pace Bonus tied to milestones
Schedule / Shift
Schedule will consist of hours worked· Monday - Friday between 7:30AM - 6:00PM along with rotational hours on Saturday from 8:00AM - 4:00PM. Hours worked on Saturday will equal a day off during the week in addition to Sunday.
