About the Role

ArentFox Schiff is seeking an Insurance Associate to join its 3–6-year associate class in the New York or Chicago office, with a preference for New York. This position is focused on regulatory counseling and compliance rather than insurance coverage or litigation work. It offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of insurance industry clients on sophisticated regulatory and transactional matters.

Responsibilities

  • Advise insurers, insurance producers, agencies, MGAs, service contract providers, and other industry participants on insurance licensing, regulatory compliance, distribution models, product development, regulatory filings, and related state insurance law matters.
  • Draft and review MGA, TPA, service, and reinsurance agreements.
  • Conduct multi-state regulatory analyses.
  • Counsel clients on emerging insurance and insurtech issues.
  • Interact with insurance regulators.
  • Support the insurance regulatory aspects of corporate and transactional matters.
  • Work on insurance M&A matters.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience as an associate.
  • Experience with regulatory work in the insurance industry.
  • Strong experience conducting multi-state regulatory analyses.
  • Exposure to insurance M&A.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.

Pay

The good faith base salary range for this position is $240,000 to $340,000 per year. The actual salary offered will depend on factors including years of relevant experience, education, applicable bar admissions, and overall qualifications. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive bonus program with opportunities for discretionary incentives based on productivity, business development, and merit.
