Insurance Regulatory Associate
Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking an Associate to join its Insurance Products Group, a premier regulatory practice, to work on sophisticated matters at the intersection of insurance and securities regulation. This position is open in our New York or Washington, D.C. offices.
Eversheds Sutherland’s Insurance Products Group has decades of experience advising life insurance companies on the complex laws and business relationships involved in the development, registration, administration, and distribution of life and retirement products. It is the nation’s leading practice on the regulation of insurance contracts by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (e.g., variable and index-linked annuities and life insurance policies).
About the role
Associates in the Insurance Products Group work closely with Partners who are widely recognized for their expertise in insurance and securities regulation. The position offers direct mentorship, hands-on experience, and the opportunity to develop deep, market-leading expertise in insurance and securities regulation.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- 2-5 years of regulatory compliance experience (law firm, regulator, or in-house) focused on:
- U.S. federal securities laws (e.g., the Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933, or Securities Exchange Act of 1934)
- Insurance regulation
- Demonstrated ability to build expertise in a specialized area of law and immerse in the insurance industry

Pay
The salary range for this Associate position is $235,000–365,000, commensurate with years of relevant experience and geographic location.
Schedule
This position requires in-office presence three days per week.
