Responsibilities
- Represent corporate policyholders in complex insurance coverage litigation, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution proceedings involving D&O, Cyber, RWI, CGL, Environmental, E&O, Property/Business Interruption and other first- and third-party coverages.
- Advise clients on insurance recovery strategy and a broad range of coverage issues.
- Analyze and interpret complex commercial insurance policies, endorsements, exclusions, and coverage provisions.
- Draft coverage analyses, pleadings, motions, briefs, and substantive legal memoranda.
- Assist clients in securing defense and indemnity coverage for third-party liability claims and other significant losses.
- Work closely with clients, insurers, brokers, adjusters, and underlying defense counsel to advance insurance recovery objectives.
- Support all phases of litigation, including factual development, discovery, motion practice, and hearing or trial preparation.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in insurance recovery, insurance coverage litigation, or policyholder-side coverage counseling.
- Demonstrated experience representing policyholders and experience counseling clients on insurance recovery.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- High degree of professionalism, initiative, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admission to the applicable state bar and in good standing, or ability to obtain admission promptly.
- Federal judicial clerkship experience is a plus, but not required.
