Insurance Property Inspector
About the Role
Information Providers, Inc. is seeking a part-time 1099 Insurance Property Inspector in Essex, NJ. This is a field-based, independent role ideal for those who enjoy working on the road, managing their own time, and making a real impact. As our Insurance Property Inspector, you'll earn $20–$28 per billable hour.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of homes and businesses, capturing detailed photographs and documenting key features relevant to underwriting decisions.
- Assess property conditions, identify potential hazards or concerns, and gather accurate data.
- Compile thorough, high-quality underwriting survey reports to support informed risk evaluation.
- Complete administrative work remotely and submit reports in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate measuring, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, smartphones, and Windows-based laptops.
- Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in insurance inspections, real estate/property appraisal, home inspections, insurance claims adjusting, construction/commercial contracting, loss control/risk assessment, or as a first responder is highly valued.
- No specific degree required; dependable, self-motivated professionals with a strong work ethic are preferred.
Schedule
Field operating hours are from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM (or dusk, whichever is earlier), Monday through Saturday. No surveys or phone contact after 8:00 PM, on Sundays, or Holidays, unless requested by the policyholder.
